HBO gets the tripleheader it originally sought for its October 24 telecast, though having to tweak the lineup in order to make it happen.

The American cable giant announced that the night will serve as the exclusive rebroadcast of its October 17 Pay-Per-View event from Madison Square Garden.

Headlining the show, Gennady Golovkin racked up his 21st consecutive knockout victory after an 8th round stoppage of brave but outgunned David Lemieux. The evening's chief support saw unbeaten World flyweight champion Roman Gonzalez break down former two-division champ Brian Viloria in an impressive 9th round stoppage win.

Both fights will air via replay next weekend, preceding the live portion of its World Championship Boxing event.

Fighting in real time, Terence Crawford makes his third appearance at CenturyLink Center in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. Awaiting the unbeaten super lightweight titlist is Canada's Dierry Jean, who moves back up in weight after a brief foray in the lightweight division.

Original plans called for the bout and Golovkin-Lemieux replay to be paired up with a same-day rebroadcast of the World heavyweight championship between Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury. The clash of heavyweight mammoths was due to air live during the day and then replay later in the evening.

However, Klitschko suffered an injury during training camp earlier in the month, thus postponing the bout until November 28, due to air live on HBO from Dusseldorf, Germany.

Crawford makes his seventh appearance on HBO, a run that began as a late fill-in, stepping up in a 10-round win over Breidis Prescott in March '13. The unbeaten boxer enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2014, including a pair of big wins at home and a title win on the road in Scotland to earn Fighter of the Year accolades in many circles.

A 9th round knockout win over Yuriorkis Gamboa last June served as one of the best fights of 2014, and also the first time in HBO's 40-plus year history that a fight card on its network aired live from Omaha. The upcoming showdown with Jean will mark the third such occasion, having also fought at home in a 12-round win over Ray Beltran last November.

Golovkin's latest feat marked his ninth fight on HBO, and his first in the PPV market. Returns on the a la carte circuit won't come in for at least a few days, but his Garden party played to a sold-out crowd of 20,548 in attendance.

Gonzalez appeared for the second straight time on HBO, making his network debut in May. A 2nd round destruction of Edgar Sosa was paired up with Golovkin's 6th round knockout of Willie Monroe.

The October 24 tripleheader airs at 9:30 p.m. ET. Exclusive replays of the telecast will air on HBO the following morning (Oct. 25, 9:30 a.m. ET/PT) and later that afternoon on HBO2 (3:30 p.m. ET).
