Two persons were killed while a 42-year-old woman was seriously wounded after the habal-habal (motorcycle-for-hire) they were riding fell from a cliff in Dalaguete town, southern Cebu on Friday morning.
Aniana Anuba died on site. Eduardo Delpan, the driver of the motorcycle died on the way to the hospital. Delpan’s wife Marie, 42, was in critical condition at the Vicent Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.
The accident happened at the road’s downward slope in sitio Tubod, barangay Ohong, said PO2 Leo Gesim.
Delpan was negotiating the unpaved road when the brakes malfunctioned. Delpan lost control of the motorcycle which fell off the cliff. Anuba died after hitting her head on a rock.
