Trinity running back Ja'Ron Wilson's clutch yardage highlights this week's awards

AWARDS

Chef of the Week

In sports the term “cookin” is reserved for a player who goes on a scoring spree or gets hot during a game and makes big plays on the offensive end.

This week’s “Chef of the Week” award goes to Trinity (Euless, Texas) running back JaRon Wilson for racking up 118 yards and a touchdown in Trinity’s 26-21 win over De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) this past weekend.

No, the 118 yards won’t break any longstanding records, but Wilson did this to lead his team past the No. 1 team in the USA Today HSS Super 25.

Now, that’s chef-like behavior.

Poster of the Week

This week’s Poster of the Week winner is Huntington Prep (Huntington, W.Va.) wing Miles Bridges for the unreal throw down he managed in Nike EYBL Select’s 125-85 win over Bahamas Select last week.

Bridges blew by his man on the right wing, went to the baseline, rose up and cocked the ball back, seemingly to the bleachers, over a defender who should’ve rethought jumping.

Oh No They Didn’t!

This award is reserved for the player who turned in a mind-boggling performance or play that left the crowd in a state of shock and amazement.

This week’s “Oh No They Didn’t” winner is High Point Christian Academy (High Point, N.C.) forward Edrice “Bam Bam” Adebayo for literally bringing the goal down at the Elite 24 in New York last week.

Adebayo threw down a put-back slam and brought the front of the rim down on his way down for the landing.

Makes even more sense now that his peers voted him Most Likely to Break a Rim in the 2015 Players Choice Awards/Superlatives.

He went on to win Co-MVP of the game posting 21 points and eight rebounds.
