Marvel’s Luke Cage for Netflix is one of the most highly anticipated shows coming this fall, and the minds behind the superhero tale joined together to reveal the first of a behind the scenes video series. In Part One of the “Street Level Hero” social video series, the music used in the show is explained in grand detail.

The first video of the social series features Executive Producer Cheo Hodari Coker, series lead Mike Colter, Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest, producer Andrian Younge, A$AP Ferg and Wu-Tang Clan legend Method Man.

The group discussed the gritty feel of Luke Cage and share how each episode is essentially informed by the music used in the backdrop. Coker goes on the explain that each episode of the series is named after Gang Starr songs, and the show’s theme is built around the titles. An especially excited Method Man said, “Brothers like me been waiting for this since I was eight years old.”

Meth is certainly not alone on this one.
