Boise State is looking to fill the gaps of Idaho technology companies by tailoring students' skills to their needs.

Boise State University President, Bob Kustra, gave the state of the university address, partnered with Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce. This was the first year it was geared toward local businesses.

President Kustra focused on the growth of the university in the last 10 years and plans for the future.

"We need your companies to come along beside us, to think about where you might be able to place an intern, to think about where you might be able to hire a graduate, to think about how you might be able to mentor one of our students," said President Kustra.

President Kustra noted that the computer science program moving into The Clearwater Building downtown makes students more accessible to software engineering companies.

He also mentioned The School of Public Service will have a downtown presence, with a new office opening up next month.
