02 June 2019

In an interview with the Voice of America Amharic program, posted to the web on 31 May 2019, Ethiopia's PM Abiy Ahmed sent a clear message to Eritrea Ruler, tyrant Isias Afarqi: It is not right to stay in power for ages, unlimited time or ad infinitum! Below excerpt of the video of the interview conducted by Eskinder Frew of the VOA:

On Eritrea:
Question: in your letter of congratulations on the occasion of its 28th independence, you spoke of outstanding burning issues that needed resolution. What issue are you talking about?
PM Abiy: issue like Somalia/Kenya problem, Djibouti/Eritrea border issue, South Sudan.
Question: The border between Ethiopia and Eritrea, now you see it open now you see it closed. What is going on?
PM Abiy: Eritrea ruler feels threatened by an open border for fear that opposition groups in Ethiopia and one might add the "Enough, Yiakl' youth movement  might exploit the open border to get him one way or the other.
