Powell River student receives multiple accolades

Brooks Secondary School grade 12 graduate Trent Sundberg, 17, was the recipient of one of the major awards recently presented at this year’s awards and scholarships ceremony.

Sundberg was given the Herb Marrion Award for sportsmanship, citizenship, leadership and contribution to school life. A $500 scholarship was included with the prize.

Criteria for the honour requires the student to take a leadership role on a school team, in a school club, activity, event or group and demonstrate qualities of commitment, cooperation and fair play in sports and citizenship.

Sundberg was also on the honour roll and received scholarships from Catalyst Paper Corporation ($1,000), Dogwood District Authority Award ($1,250) and Award of Merit for Science ($3,000).

He will be attending University of Victoria in September for post-secondary education in engineering.
