Due to continued growth, Fischer Paper Products is currently seeking a full-time Talent Manager to join our team in Antioch, IL.   

In this newly created position, you will design, support, and drive talent programs in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan. As both a strategic and tactical business partner on the employee lifecycle, you will manage talent acquisition, onboarding, development, engagement, and retention. This role will collaborate with the management team and executive leadership to foster a strong, unified culture of synergy and cross-functional teamwork. 

The Talent Manager will bring a holistic approach to creating talent acquisition best practices and processes with an eye towards the candidate experience, employer branding, and recruitment marketing. And drive efforts towards establishing Fischer Paper Products as a top employer of choice in the greater Antioch community.

Position Overview

 Recruiting & Onboarding:

  • Identifies opportunities to articulate and define the Company’s image, organizational culture, key differentiators, reputation, and products and services through branding initiatives.
  • Directs activities designed to build a positive candidate experience, promote and maintain a high level of employee morale, and takes necessary action to create a positive employee-employer relationship.
  • Develops and maintains recruiting strategies and metrics such as diversity, cost of hire, and time to fill which are used to evaluate the effectiveness of the recruiting process and drives continuous improvement.
  • Coordinates staffing activities which includes recruitment, selection, interviewing, and hiring of non-exempt and exempt level positions to ensure program aligns with business needs and incorporates external influences to the recruiting process.
  • Establishes networks and maintains partnerships with third party organizations such as recruitment agencies and monitors its effectiveness.
  • Monitors the recruiting program to ensure competitiveness within the marketplace and consistency with company compensation philosophy.
  • Creates and maintains systems used to identify current and future talent needs and develop a talent pool.
  • Manages talent acquisition process for all roles across the organization and trains managers on their role in the process.
  • Develop and enhance the onboarding programs (including orientation).
  • Develop and coordinate internal job posting program.
  • Ensures compliance with company and governmental regulations such as OFCCP, EEO, and DOL.

Employee Development & Engagement:

  • Be the Employee Champion to include team and morale building.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, improve employee engagement, increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides recommendations on improving the employee/manager relationship.
  • Takes a hands-on approach to engage employees for long term retention as well as the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
  • Establishes workforce plans that address labor markets, global consideration and the individual skills and competencies necessary for long-term company success.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience; preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • 3+ years of experience in a recruiting role, including the sourcing of passive candidates
  • Enjoys a fast-paced environment and the challenges of a growing organization
  • Has a natural sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated business partner and leadership skills with ability to scope and understand business needs and define and implement solutions
  • Strong relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem-solving and change management skills
  • Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in building relationships, team player, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communications skills
