Mental Health Elearning University College Dublin

29th November 2022

Undeniably, the pandemic has adversely harmed employees in every sector, and higher education is no exception. Organisational support is key to employee engagement and wellbeing.  Not only is it a good thing to do, it is the right thing to do.

One of our most in-demand topics for e-learning is mental health. Challenging economic times, and the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic are some of the contributing factors to the mental health crisis.

Earlier this year, Marshall E-Learning released a mental health course in collaboration with the University of Exeter. Utilising their subject matter expertise, the university developed the content for an online course for its staff. This course is now available for any university to buy, or alternatively organisations can come to us to develop a totally bespoke option.

Bespoke Course – University College Dublin

With our bespoke e-learning service, you can create exactly what you want. The University College Dublin is the latest institution to work with Marshall E-Learning.

The University College Dublin is one of Europe’s leading research-intensive universities, is ranked within the top 1% of higher education institutions worldwide, and was ranked 173rd in the world in the QS World University Rankings® for 2022.

Ireland has one of Europe’s highest rates of mental illness, ranking third out of the 36 countries surveyed in the annual Health at a Glance report 2018. It was, therefore, important to create a course that covered a range of aspects of mental health.

Working with Marshall E-Learning enabled University College Dublin to create a customised course based on its own values, brand, and culture. This course came to fruition from the diversity and equality training we have delivered for a number of Irish universities. To date, the course has been well received.

After the successful pilot, the course has now been made available to everyone at University College Dublin.

Bespoke Course – University of Brighton

We also created a new student mental health course in collaboration with the University of Brighton. The course was created for both staff and students with two versions available with downloadable workbooks to help reinforce learning. The training enables staff working within the university to understand the mental health challenges in the higher education environment. The course is CPD-certified and comes complete with an end-of-course certificate.

Benefits of bespoke e-learning

We’ve been taking on these kinds of bespoke projects since 2002 for charities, public sector organisations and universities. We use the latest technologies to ensure your learning solution is accessible, mobile-responsive and impactful.

Customised e-learning courses can:

  • help to optimise your budget,
  • ensure that your training requirement is related to the demands, culture, and ethos of your organisation,
  • enable you to tailor your e-learning to your needs by giving engaging real-world scenarios to address specific problems that your institution might face.

Our course designers and trained storytellers will work with your subject matter experts to create a course that’s unique to your institution and distinct for your learners. Every aspect, including the content, voiceover artists, and animation, will help to meet your bespoke learning goals.

Universities are also able to add their own photography and policies. A Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version is available, as well as translation.

Mental health e-learning

It doesn’t stop there, though. We also have a general commercial mental health e-learning resource with topics on anxiety, overload, and recognising distress.

Finally, we have our latest follow-up resource, where psychologist Richard Smith created therapeutic models to go beyond the more introductory content that e-learning is usually associated with.
