2018 Door County Fourth of July Events

Independence Day celebrations are a busy time of year in the county. With many people visiting, Door County towns pull out all of the stops to celebrate the 4th of July. 

June 30

Start the celebrations early with an Independence Day Cookout on Rock Island. Food and  merchandise are available for purchase, and a silent auction will be held to help raise funds for park projects.

July 3

From 10 to 10:30 am Peninsula State Park hosts their Annual Flag Raising. Raise the stars stripes and enjoy a recitation of the Gettysburg Address by Charles Dickson. Red, White, & Blue art activities follow.

Egg Harbor starts day one of their celebrations with food and refreshments and live music. Fireworks are set to start at dusk. The beach closes at 2 pm for fireworks setup.

The fun in Kewaunee starts at 3 pm at Lakehaven Hall with live music, food, kids activities and more. Then, at 6 pm there will be a parade that begins at the Kewaunne Grade School and will continue down Center Street. Fireworks will being at dusk.

July 4

The county bustles with activity on Independence Day. There are parades, food, and fireworks throughout the day.

Baileys Harbor starts off their day with a pancake breakfast at the fire station. The town hall is home to an arts and  crafts fair all day as well as a food court where visitors can buy an assortment of food and drink. The parade starts at 10 am and is followed by live music and fun activities throughout town, with a fireworks display at dusk.

Egg Harbor starts day two of celebrating with a parade at 1:30 pm. A performance by the UW-Madison Marching Band follows the parade at Harbor View Park.

Spend the evening in Sturgeon Bay at Sunset Park enjoying food, an ice cream social, and live music. Enjoy fun play areas with the family before the fireworks display starts at dusk.

Take a trip to Washington Island and enjoy a pancake breakfast with the fire department. Equipment is on display for visitors. Fireworks at dusk.

Gills Rock offers a variety of food and beverages with music starting at 6pm. Find your spot and enjoy the evening before the boat regatta starts at 7pm, fireworks at dusk.

If you are staying in the Southern Door area, Maplewood offers a fireworks display at dusk.

The Luxemburg Speedway in Kewaunee is hosting a special race night with action on the track starting at 6 pm, then at 8:30 pm, everyone is invited into the stands, at no charge, to watch the last races before the fireworks begin at dusk.

 

July 7

Sister Bay Freedom Fest. 10 am – 10 pm. Sister Bay Lions Club brat fry, hamburgers, hot dogs, beer, and refreshments. Kids Activities and fireworks at dusk sponsored by Chop, LURE and Pasta Vino restaurants.

Fish Creek extends the celebration. Enjoy live music, food and drinks, before heading to Clark Park and watching a fireworks display at dusk.
