Dhaka University vice-chancellor Akhtaruzzaman on Wednesday expressed deep shock at the death of Ekushey Padak winning folk singer Indra Mohan Rajbongshi.
In a message, the DU VC said that Indra Mohan was a veteran artiste, musician, secular, and humanitarian man.
His death is an irrecoverable loss of the art and cultural sector, said the VC.
Akhtaruzzaman also prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family, said a release.
Indra Mohan Rajbongshi, also a Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artiste, died of COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in the morning.
