OPM singer April Boy Regino has passed away

Singer April Boy Regino has passed away, according to his brother Vingo Regino.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Vingo shared that it was a sad day for him.

“Nakakalungkot naman ang araw na ito..wala na ang kuya April Boy ko,” he said.

April Boy was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2009 while living in the United States.

In 2013, April Boy announced that he was already cancer-free after years of battling the illness.

In 2015, the singer shared that he was suffering from diabetic retinopathy, which is an eye condition that can cause vision loss and blindness in people with diabetes.

April Boy expressed his joy signing a contract with GMA Records as he already thought that his singing career was already over.

In an interview in 2016, he said his left eye became completely blind, while his right eye can only see some light. With this condition, he said his performance became limited.

He was managing a business with his son JC.
